Yesterday we had a check-up at the day care center, blood was tested, the anesthesiologist was consulted about pain management, the physiotherapist showed some strengthening exercises, and the surgeon evaluated the healing wound. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
It turned out that there were no contraindications to continuing oncology treatment, even on the same day there would be a vacant bed in the ward. So, we had to organize in no time (we were not prepared to stay in the hospital overnight and the following days) and adjust logistical family plans. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Marysia today began a cycle of chemotherapy (cisplastin + adriamycin) that was skipped before surgery. In three weeks, she will begin the treatment pathway predicted for better results (based on the results of the tumor biopsy taken at the time of surgery), perhaps modified later by a drug to prevent lung metastasis (this will be decided in due course by the attending physician). <\/p>\n\n\n\n
In the meantime, she will slowly strengthen her muscles so that she will be as prepared as possible to exercise with her prosthesis once she gets it. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
