Leg amputation tomorrow

Marysia will have her leg amputated tomorrow (27.06.2025).

At: 8:00 he enters the operating room in the presence of a parent. Unfortunately, the cancer has reached the head of the femur and it is necessary to perform an excision at the hip joint. That is, full removal of the leg.

The operation may take about 7h. After it, depending on Mary's condition, she will either go to the recovery room or to intensive care.

Amputation is not the end of the problems.

First healing that is in the traumatology department may require a stay of about 10 days. After recovery, we continue with modified oncology treatment on a schedule of chemotherapy given every 3 weeks for 5 days and this will continue for several months.

About a month after the operation, it will be possible to talk about preparations for the prosthesis and adaptive rehabilitation.
